*OPEN OPEN

Appended to an answer option to capture a free-text verbatim response when that option is selected. Commonly used with an "Other (Please Specify)" option.

Syntax *OPEN

Applies To *SR *MR

Usage Example

Q1. Which brand do you use most often?
1:Brand A
2:Brand B

4:Other (Please Specify) *OPEN

Place *OPEN at the end of the option line, after the option label.

Works with both *SR and *MR question types.
